My digital chalkboard arts

I've been on hiatus lately because I have already started planning for my daughter's first birthday party. Yep I still have 3 months to prepare her 1st year, but since I am so OC in party preps, I opted to start as early as now. I love diy-ing most stuff and to tell you honestly, I am such a hands-on person when it comes to big events like this. (Most especially that it’s my daughter’s first birthday) i have already contacted a bunch of suppliers for my party ideas, and for me, planning my daughter’s birthday is more stressful than planning our wedding he he he.

With only a limited budget in our hands, I need to make sure to trim down expenses and find the least expensive suppliers that do not forgo quality. I also plan to DIY a lot of things to make the event even more memorable for us, and for our daughter (even if I know she wouldn’t remember any details from it) Now, this led me to find and unleash the creativity that I didn’t know I have in me.

Are you familiar with the chalkboard posters that most party planners/decorators use in the venue? I’ve always wanted that for each of our events but I do not know where to find someone who can do it for me.  And so I researched and found some suppliers who can customize any theme but I do not find their rates really reasonable. That's when I decided to try if I can make these chalkboards.

I am still the in process of practicing the digital chalkboard art, but a lot of my friends are telling me that my designs are really beautiful. I didn’t know I have an artistic side until I tried making these.

Here are my sample works: ( I decided to make these for my friends to build my own portfolio, because if work permits, I’d start offering my “services”. Haha!

These will be my introductory prices:

150/layout only (file will be sent to their e-mail) and if with cold lamination print, its 300 pesos, free shipping within Metro Manila.

Are you planning for a birthday party, or simply want to have your own chalkboard and display it on your kid's room? Comment down your details, and I'll try making you your own layout :)

  2. Hi, Kat! I totally agree with you. Planning a party for our kids is more stressful than planning your own (or someone else's) wedding! I remember starting my daughter's party prep on February kahit na October pa ang birthday niya. Hihihi. One thing I made sure was my daughter to have her birthday cake because we didn't have one on our wedding. Yeah, it sucks, I knoooow! Blame it on my cake supplier. :-( Anyway, kudos for being a DIY-momma right there, wala akong patience for that. The only thing I have DIY'd on my daughter's big day was the Thank You stickers for her lootbags. :D Here's the link of my daughter's first birthday, by the way: http://www.lifeastheceo.com/2012/12/yzia-turns-one.html

And about the digital chalkboard? I LOVE IT! I may request for your service soon. :-)

More power to your blog, muther! :-*

  8. You're very artistic mommy :) I'm also a freelance graphic artist (Artique) and a client has asked me to do a chalkboard design just recently. I had fun too! This is a great portfolio, go for it and make your own page or website and put them out there! I also agree with the DIY party planning..much more exciting kaysa iasa mo lang sa planner hehe :) Good luck with your own party preps!

  9. Go for it and make money out of it! I love your designs especially the one with Elsa. This idea is so unique and so far you're the only one I've seen creating digital chalj boards. My daughter's 1st birthday will be on Sept. 9 this year. Maybe you can help me out 5 months from now :)

  13. Wow all of these look really cute and creative! I can see na you're really artistic mommy. :) BTW, it's my first time to hear about chalkboard posters, I think it's time for me to go out and attend events. Haha If you don't mind, could you please post the dimensions, I was just wondering if bondpaper size lang ba or banner type na malaki?

  14. Small world, I use Photoshop everyday and have been commissioned a couple of times already. But they were mostly for company logos, promotional ads on social media, cover photos and the like. It really helps with DIY projects for a more personal touch when it comes to parties. The tarp for my youngest's first birthday party was designed by me, although I think it's still amateurish and a bit rough around the edges it was better than nothing haha. It was chalk themed too. Chalk art really is the trend and I don't think it will ever go away. Good luck on the party preps! God bless.

  16. Like you, I also love going the DIY route when planning for my kids' birthday parties. I love that I am able to model a creative lifestyle for them. I also love graphic design on my free time, so designing the invites, the birthday banner, loot bag sticker, and everything else are done by me.

I love the chalkboard deigns you made, but maybe you can make it even more attractive if you choose fonts that are made for chalkboard layout.:) There are a lot that you can download online for freee.
