Milly's vaccine per month ranges from 3,000 to 5,000 depending on the type of "medicine" to be injected; one of the most expensive shot given to her was the Prevenar 13 Pneummococal. I am thankful because unlike other babies, Milly doesn't get any fever after being immunized. She doesn't cry that much too; perhaps its because of her chunky thighs that help numbs the prick. Are you curious how I define chunky thighs? Look at the picture below. Haha!
Due to budget constraints, I started checking some online forums and asked how much their pedia charges per shot. I am quite shocked because what we pay is way higher as compared to others. I think its because the hospital where Milly gets her monthly shots. (Well, for all I know Perpetual Help Rizal sometimes overcharges their patients. That's why my late mom used to call it "PERAPetual" haha). One mom recommended the Jacobs Ladder immunization center and good thing they have a branch here in Las Pinas. Since their services solely focus on immunization, their rates are lower as compared to others.
Aside from the more affordable rates of shots, what I loved about this center is that the one who administers the shot is also a pedia. So it's not like a typical center wherein they'd just inject your little one. Here in Jacob's ladder the pedia will thoroughly check your baby.
If you're from South and looking for an affordable immunization center, Jacobs Ladder is highly recommended. This is located along Alabang Zapote road beside Meralco. (Its the orange building)
Here are their rates.
You have to make an appointment first before going there. I am not 100% sure if they accept walk ins. Don't forget to bring your baby book once you go there so they can double check the right shot they have to give your baby.
Natawa naman ko sa PERApetual. Checking the rates, mura nga siya because few years ago I paid P5500 for 6 in 1 vaccine
ReplyDeleteI'd rather complete my baby's immunization, never mind the expenses, it'll be a bigger problem if the baby gets sick one day. I've had experienced them with Kyle. He didn't had german measles shot, when he acquired german measles at 5 yrs. old, it had given him complications. So vaccination is a must!
ReplyDeleteFor our kids' first year, we made tiyaga at the local health center where they gave free vaccines. We were lucky enough to have been located in Molino that time where the center seldom gets crowded and the facility is clean and well-maintained.
ReplyDeleteHi Mommy. You can check the health centers near your area. Sometimes they provide "free" or much more affordable vaccines :)
ReplyDeleteAgree with makabutas bulsa! Nyahaha! Grabe no? But in reality, we have free immunization on baranggay health centers talaga. But when I tried to go there, grabe! I was shocked with how they do things. People with TB are seated on the same waiting room as the babies. O diba? Hindi na ko bumalik ever. As in.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they have a branch somewhere in the Metro naman? We didn't even the Pneumoccocal because it's so expensive!
ReplyDeleteMam meron po branch sa may UN Ave, Ermita, Manila. Here's their contact number 4041189 or 4043796.
DeleteYeah, the vaccines are so expensive. Yung mga anak ko pinapacheckup ko sa local clinic lang, Hindi as hospital.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for sharing this. We live in the South too and this would be very helpful to us.
ReplyDeleteOh, ang mura! Sa amin naman, though we had to pay for a lot of vaccines, we surely saved a lot from also getting some of them from the barangay center. Tyagaan lang sa pila, pero libre naman.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love those chunky thighs! Hehehe. It's good to know that there are centers that offer vaccines for a lower cost. Super expensive talaga pag sa hospital na doctor. Huhu
ReplyDeleteI remember how expensive these vaccines were. Hanggang ngayon pala, and it will really be helpful to make use of our local clinics family friendly rates.
ReplyDeleteGood for you to have found a cheaper place to get immunization shots. We did get vaccines from the health center for our daughter while those they don't have, we get from the pedia. We haven't been to the pedia in a year now though (she's now 2). There's so much talk about whether go get vaccines or not, especially in the US, so I'm kind of delaying things. But we've completed the basics already though.
ReplyDeleteMy kids both have their "required" vaccines sa local clinic sa brgy lang where you just have to "donate" after they're given the shot.
ReplyDeleteI always say the same thing! "nakakabutas ng bulsa" hahaha. But would like to complete all for my baby's sake :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had her vaccines from the local barangay health clinic where we used to live. It was a struggle completing her vaccine boosters because of high costs.
ReplyDeleteI hope they have in QC also. Vaccines are very expensive tapos our pedia pa is in Cardinal, which means higher price pa. I'm not comfortable switching pedias kasi so sige nalang. But this would really mean a lot of savings :)
ReplyDeleteSwerte naman ni Milly at hindi sya nilalagnat after vaccination! And she does have chunky things! So cute!
ReplyDeleteNaku kakabutas talaga ng bulsa sis! lalo na sa kin twins pa!
